The "Friends of Hardy " is a volunteer local organization, in partnership with DC Parks & Recreation The organization is commited to the upkeep and preservation of the Hardy Recreation Center and Field which is located at Q Street and 45th Street NW.

In addition to creating and maintaining a safe, attractive environment and appropriate programming for pre-school children, school children, and adults, the Friends of Hardy work towards the following goals:

• Enhancing and beautifing the building, grounds and equipment
• Ensuring the safety of Hardy as a gathering place for residents of all ages
• Promoting programs and projects that meet the needs and interests of local residents
• Collaborating with DC Department of Recreation and Parks to make effective use of city resources at Hardy
• Providing liaison between local residents and the organizations that operate and use Hardy
• Making participation in Friends of Hardy an enjoyable and rewarding experience
