Friends of Hardy ...
The "Friends of Hardy " is a volunteer local organization, in partnership with DC Parks & Recreation The organization is commited to the upkeep and preservation of the Hardy Recreation Center and Field which is located at Q Street and 45th Street NW.
In addition to creating and maintaining a safe,
attractive environment and appropriate programming for pre-school children, school
children, and adults, the Friends of Hardy work towards the following goals:
- Enhancing and beautifing the building, grounds and equipment
- Ensuring the safety of Hardy as a gathering place for residents of all ages
- Promoting programs and projects that meet the needs and interests of local residents
- Collaborating with DC Department of Recreation and Parks to make effective use of city
resources at Hardy
- Providing liaison between local residents and the organizations that operate and use Hardy
- Making participation in Friends of Hardy an enjoyable and rewarding experience
About the Rec Center ...
The Hardy Recreation Center is open Monday-Friday 9 am - 9 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am - 4 pm and offers local residents a variety of programs and recreational offerings including:
- Aerobics for Senior Citizens
- Arts and Crafts
- Babies and Toddlers
- Basketball Court
- Football Field
- Gardening Club
- Multi-Purpose Room (small)
- Picnic Area
- Playground
- Soccer
- Tennis Court
- Volleyball Court
- Weekly Meeting
In the Fall and Spring a Stoddert League play soccer on the Hardy Recreation Field every
Saturday.
